Etoile 2005 Santa Rita Hills, Pinot Noir

This PinoEtoile 05 Close upt just smells like Fall is around the corner. Heaps of spice with Cinnamon and Ginger, dark red bing cherries, mixed with cedar spiked strawberries and concentrated pomegranate juice which translates to the palette as one powerful Pinot! A spike of acidity is a jolt up front, but that quickly settles into deeper, darker flavors where the dark cherries become cooked and brandy soaked and then sprinkled with that cinnamon along with a touch of all spice. This is not a light weight wine..and the flavor notes linger long after the last sip… 5 minutes later the essence is still lingering in my mouth. This Bottle is ready to enjoy now, but is certainly worthy of another 5 years of cellaring.  Cheers!
